givemechu: hayao-miyazaki: I always wondered why the symbol “ゆ” (said “yu”) was on the door to the bath house. I asked my Japanese teacher, and he wasn’t sure so I did a little research. The symbol is used on the entrance to 温泉 (onsen) and 銭湯 (sento), or Japanese bath houses….

The history that comes with this effort is unabridged and needless to say, morbidly hopeless. And yet it rings with a hint of possibility, stringing me along, ringing me out; regardless of what any past experience can yell out in warning

I just wanna be ok
Have been telling all my problems to get behind while I enjoy my break, only to come face-to-face with the harsh realities of deadlines. Ugh..what has gotten into me really. I just need to force myself to finish these up..no biggie..

'Cos we all got dreams.
When you pace your lifestyle in terms of the future, you need to count the fact that the short path in front of you may not be as long as you may perceive it to be. That next chance, that escape at the end of the tunnel may never be there. So, I can’t do that anymore. I can’t escape my anger by just looking towards the future and not do anything about a situation. How can one keep...

The overpopulation myth →
janedoe225: But most of the 7 billion are not endangering the earth. The majority of the world’s people don’t destroy forests, don’t wipe out endangered species, don’t pollute rivers and oceans, and emit essentially no greenhouse gases. Even in the rich countries of the Global North, most environmental destruction is caused not by individuals or households, but by mines, factories, and power...

Sometimes I just need quiet time
What I don’t need is the noise of your thoughts. They crowd my senses, and are in the end, unwelcomed.

Starting..
So I finally started my personal statement.. (Late right, yeah I know) and what started out as a well-structured plan of rhetorical strategies, at the right moments, with a reverse chronological order in quoted flashbacks, and an optimistic-yet-cynical narrative voice.. turned out to be a tangent of a rant…

Passing out words.
Constantly having to write, having to be interrogated with questions that forces one to have a clear view of any and all personal beliefs and ideals, it seems like the written word has lost its meaning. Word after word. Writing articles, essays, filling out applications or answering prompts. Sometimes I feel like I’m just stuffed with words. Sometimes all I think about are words until...

Honestly
the same thoughts have lead to the same endings. I  really need to pull my head out of the gutters and step up. Not just towards that, but towards everything. Am I making small improvements and just too impatient, wanting a giant leap? Things may be all the better being content, but the same ambitions seem to come from the lack of contentness.
